Photographer Lisa Mullinax has always had a special bond with dogs. Growing up, she was usually the only child at barbecues and gatherings and found her playmates in the resident dogs. This bond only grew stronger as she matured. She is now a dog trainer and behavior consultant in Sacramento.

After losing two very special dogs, Lisa found that she treasured the rare photos that captured her dogs' true spirit, rather than snapshots or posed studio photos.

Candid Canines was created to offer portraits of dogs that represent not only a dog's physical likeness, but their true personalities. Because photos are taken in a setting where your dog is comfortable, Lisa is able to capture your dog's true self.
